BluejayThe following items were discussed &/or acted upon at the 5/1 Special BoE Meeting:

* Health Insurance.  HMO Plan as presented.  3.15% increase (rather than 8% with POS/PPO).  Approved.

* Employee Handbooks Revision.  There was confusion of the language for HSA payment.  That is now clarified and approved by the Board.

One-half payment will be made no later than September 15 and the second-half payment made no later than March 15 in a fiscal year.

* Accepted the retirement of Shirley Diethelm effective at the end of the 2016-17 school year.  Job well done.  Thanks for your wonderful service to the District!  Thanks for 30 great years!

* B&G approval of projects:
     > New Telephone System through Unitel (our current provider).  The current system is no longer being supported as Toshiba has gone out of the telephone business.

     > Purchase a used 8x20 storage container for athletic equipment currently all over the place in the gym, etc.  Provide safe emergency exits again.  Store items not in use.

     > Add  cameras to the HS building for the fitness center and entryway (to increase future public use of the fitness center nights and weekends when custodians do not work) and the boys' locker room hallway (a blind spot we've had difficulty with thefts and mischief by students).

     > Reviewing replacement of rooftop heating/AC units, continue the LED lighting project as maintenance monies provide, the A-Team and Elementary painting projects, and future modifications for an ACP room (123) with offices for the school counselor and psychologist  integrated.
