    Job Description

    Responsible for teaching High School (9-12) Choir, Middle School (7-8) Choir, and General Music (Grades PK-6) in two buildings. Additional responsibilities include solo-ensemble and concert festival competitions, Marawood Honors Choir,  high school choir performances at Memorial Day events, Christmas concert for the elemetary, and Christmas and Spring concerts for both middle and high school choirs.


    There is an opportunity to direct a musical and for spring show choir.


    Applicants who are PK-12 certified in Choir (7-12) and General Music (PK-12) will be considered. The district is seeking a teacher with a shared and expanded vision of success for vocal music students.   Applicants need to demonstrate positive leadership, dynamic instruction, and a passion for performances involving students. . Athens desires to create a shared vision of success for our students interested in vocal music.


    Applicants certified in Vocal Music (Choir) and General Music will be considered.   Having an instrumental music license is an asset. Additional certifications are encouraged. Coaching opportunities available.

  •   Spanish I & II Course and Distance Learning Instructional Aide
    High School Diploma or equivalent
    Sufficient ability to speak and write in the Spanish language

    Job Outline:
    5½ hours per day with ½ hour unpaid lunch
    183 days (includes 177 with students, 3 holidays, and 3 staff development)
    Beginning Time:  9:00 am
    Ending Time:  3:00 pm
    Assistance with Spanish I (2 sections), Spanish II (2 sections), and other duties relative to the distance learning environment outside these four sections
    Expectations & Responsibilities:
    Act as the facilitator for the Spanish Distance Learning courses in addition to other needs in distance learning
    Maintain accurate attendance records for each class period using Infinite Campus
    Maintain classroom management while class is in session and enforce school handbook as it applies to managing classroom procedures and behavior
    Monitor students computers during work time with use of specialized software
    Communicate with instructor on a regular basis (once a day or as needed)
    Report to building principal (line and staff)
    Work with school counselor on the educational needs of  Spanish I & II students in a distance learning setting
    Work with building principal and technology support specialist to effectively utilize technology in the classroom (TV, projector, monitors, microphones, Chromebooks, etc.)
    Create a system for organizing, distributing, and maintaining student work
    Communicate effectively with parents, students, staff, and administrators
    Navigate Google docs, calendar, and other online platforms to effectively implement assignments, tests, and other coursework as needed
    Be willing to enhance additional skills with the Spanish language
    Be available to meet with students outside of class time to assist with understanding of assignments, tests, and software within the scheduled work day

  • Job Title: Instructional Aide (Two Positions Available)
    All hires must complete one of the following options:
    Show proof of having completed at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education that is equivalent to at least 48 semester hours
    Hold an associate’s (or higher) degree
    Pass the WorkKeys assessments of Applied Mathematics, Locating Information, and Reading for Information. This is a local assessment that will take place at the Job Center of Wisconsin.

    Job Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
    Provide instructional support services to students and teacher in a classroom, small group, or one-to-one setting
    Assist with cafeteria, recess, school, and playground supervision
    Supervise safe loading and unloading of school buses
    Assist teacher with classroom responsibilities such as classroom management, preparing and organizing instructional materials, supporting parental involvement activities, bulletin board construction, and other related tasks
    Assist in the Information and Technology Literacy Center (ITLC/library)
    Adheres to school’s positive behavioral support system
