Effective (07-08-2020) - HIGH RISK LEVEL Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Marathon County Health Department announced a “HIGH RISK LEVEL” for COVID-19 in Marathon County. The School District of Athens will continue to keep buildings CLOSED (essential staff only) through July 19. Currently, updates will be provided to the Athens community every Thursday by 10 AM regarding the status of school buildings for the next week. Safety guidelines for entering schools are posted at the Main Entrance of each building. Actualmente, se proporcionarán actualizaciones a la comunidad de Atenas todos los jueves antes de las 10 AM con respecto al estado de los edificios escolares para la próxima semana. Las pautas de seguridad para ingresar a las escuelas se publican en la entrada principal de cada edificio.

Here it is! The first piece of Athens HS/MS history is up for bid! We will be auctioning off one specialty piece a week for the next few weeks! All money raised will be put towards our new gym floor. The Athens FFA is happy to partner with so many community organizations to support our Dairy Farmers! We handed out dairy products at multiple locations, and we will be holding several more pickup days in the weeks to come. Thank you to all the donors, especially John at the IGA who donated all the milk for the first week. Hello Athens, This is Ms. Stuttgen. I would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who purchased flowers from the greenhouse!! I could not have emptied the greenhouse without everyone’s support. Thank you!!!

Mrs. Hartwig’s preschoolers would like to wish all the mothers and grandmothers a Happy Mother’s Day!

Ms. Stange was selected for a workshop at UW-Madison, summer 2019, to meet Kim Phuc and Nick Ut. Kim is “napalm girl” from the Vietnam War. Nick took the photo which won him a Pulitzer Prize but he saved her life after the picture was taken by rushing her to a hospital. Ms Stange shared the story and Kim’s life with her US 2 class in a google hangout while in school closure. The person behind the photo is fascinating as is the photographer. Please research Kim’s books because she is a strong advocate for literacy and education.

FBLA Nationals - It's with great pride that I announce that Anna Nowicki will be representing Athens at the Virtual FBLA National Leadership Conference at the end of June. Anna will be competing in the event Introduction to Business Procedures. She placed 2nd in Wisconsin.
