New snow means good clean fun!
Let’s go fishing! The Fish and Wildlife class has been working on constructing ice fishing poles. They had to find the spine of the rod, construct the handle, and thread the guides onto the pole. Constructing a fishing rod is a time consuming process, and some of the students had to learn patience.

Third graders and more presentations. These images come from our Japan presentation. We tried Sushi and used chop sticks. Some of us even tried chop sticks in our hair!
Third Grade Country Presentations were fun in our classroom. Some of us really enjoyed our Country and dressed up a bit.
6th Grade students are showing off their coding skills by coding the Cue robots to run a maze on the floor with iPads in Computer Skills class.
The Athens School District Spelling Bee was held today, January 7, at the middle/ high school! Fifth through eighth graders who won in their class spelling bee participated! Cambrea Sarasin, 8th grade, Ava Zettler, 8th grade, and Brock Beaty, 5th grade, will advance to the regional bee at Rib Lake in February! Our alternate is Makayla Schreiner! Ms. Schelling was the pronouncer with Mrs. Redmann and Mr. Hoffman as judges! Congratulations to all participants!
First Graders in Mrs. Luther’s classroom participated in a reading challenge over Christmas break. After filling up their hot chocolate cup with reading minutes they earned a cup of hot chocolate after recess today!!
Since staying up until midnight to welcome the new year is too late for kindergartners, students had a “Happy Noon Year” celebration to welcome the new year.

Congratulations to The Athens Blue Jay Quiz Bowl Team. They have qualified for the national level of competition.
