If you haven't heard...Your Athens Bluejays Boys Track & Field team are Sectional Champions, beating out 34 other teams at Sectionals! Congratulations Boys Track & Field! Qualifying for the State Meet are Connor Sheahan in the 1-Mile and 2-Mile, Aiden Janke in Shot Put and Discus, Caden Decker in Pole Vault and Ryan Peel in Pole Vault. Awesome Job Boys!

AHS National Honor Society (NHS) provided community service along with Athens Acres 4-H to the Athens Cemetery Association. The students raked and picked up the area after the winter thaw.

Students were able to participate in the NTC welding competition at the NTC campus. Students had to make a portfolio and present their projects to a panel of judges. It was a great experience for those that attended.

The Agriculture students got to attend the NTC Ag Dual Credit day. The students learned about crops and agronomy, how to wrap and splint a broken leg of a dog, they learned about mastitis and got to milk a cow, and got to determine the position of a calf using the cow/calf simulator.
Four individuals were honored at the Distinguished Athenian Alumni ceremony for the Spring of 2022. They are: Tim Clinton (Class of 1996), Mitchell Marohl (Class of 1992), Lisa McCord (Class of 1982), and Lori Zettler (Class of 1979). Their plaques will be on the wall of the Athens High School Commons. Please feel free to check them out when visiting AHS. Kudos go out to the committee that plans this ceremony.
