On the November 8 general election ballot, the School District of Athens is asking voters to approve a recurring operational referendum question for $900,000 in 2022-23 and $1.67 million per year thereafter for operational and maintenance expenses; and a $5.525 million capital referendum for a Middle/High School building addition and District facilities improvements.

Congratulations to the 7 new members of the Athens High School Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) who were recently inducted. A banquet was held with all 19 members and their families in attendance. The four tenets of NHS were discussed: academics, service, leadership, and character. Members must complete 25 hours of community service and new members need 12 hours before the end of the school year.
It was a great day to celebrate Johnny Appleseed's birthday with doing apple tasting in Mrs. Brewster's Check and Connect. Students tasted three different apple types and then voted on their favorite. Yellow Delicious apples won.
